Ann Tobey is Associate Professor at Wheelock College in Boston,
where she founded the undergraduate major in Juvenile Justice and Youth Advocacy.
She earned her bachelors degree from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks,
received a doctorate in clinical psychology from SUNY Buffalo.
Her interests include delinquency, youth advocacy, indigenous systems of justice,
positive youth development, and the arts.
She is coordinator of Ubuntu Arts, an on-going collaborative initiative
at Wheelock that is inspired by the spirit of Ubuntu.
Through the undergraduate curriculum and the community based projects,
Ann strives to have young people be involved, engaged, and connected; and
for adults to work in productive, innovative, and respectful ways with youth.
Since 2006 she has been an organizer and curator for the annual
collaborative art exhibit “Violence Transformed.”
Ann serves on the Board of Directors of Artistic Noise.
