Joanna Marinova Jones

Joanna Marinova Jones is an award-winning media producer and human rights advocate.
 She has taught extensively on the use of media arts in creating a fair and just society and
serves both as Co-Director of the Boston-based youth media nonprofit Press Pass TV and 
Film School Coordinator for Raw Art Works, an art therapy organization in Lynn.
In 2008 she led a community mobilization event encouraging disenfranchised communities
to register to vote, and has led several community meetings and screenings on topics ranging
from Domestic Violence to Corrections and CORI Reform. 
Her work has been featured on radio, television, print and in film festivals, recently winning
 Best Short at the Roxbury Film Festival. In Toronto, she founded the nonprofit organization
 Women in Life Learning and has corporate experience working for Citizens Bank and 
Wellington Financial Management. With Press Pass TV, she has led workshops in
media literacy and production at Boston Public Schools, and has been presented at
various conferences and universities. Recipient of the Plural Award from the United Nations,
she is a member of the National Organizers Alliance and has written for
The Youth Media Reporter. Originally from Bulgaria, Mrs. Jones earned
her BS in International Relations and Economics from University of Toronto,
 and currently resides in Boston.
