Marshall Hughes is the Director of Visual, Performing, and Media Arts at Roxbury Community College, and is founder and director of Opera unMet, an urban opera company that has performed in major venues over the past decade including the Hatch Shell, Symphony Hall, and First Night ceremonies. He conducted SANS, an International Choral Exchange Choir, for over fifteen years, leading tours to the former Soviet Union, Russia, the Balkans and China.
Marshall has performed extensively on the international stage, including Holland, Europe and the United States, and has directed major theater productions at several colleges, including Emerson College in Boston. He has been on the faculties of Emerson College, Boston Conservatory, New England Conservatory of Music, Wheelock College and Emmanuel College and is currently on the Humanities faculty of Roxbury Community College.
Marshall founded Roxbury Repertory Theater, a residence company, housed at the RCC, and currently serves as the company’s executive producer.
